According to the European legislation EK/35/2004, “he who pollutes, pays” and resolution UN 39/248 concerning the rights of consumers, businesses have the obligation to see so that they do not negatively affect the environment by polluting it.

Pollution may require the cleaning of the facilities costs, biodiversity rehabilitation, compensation for any bodily harm and material damage, as well as the discontinuing of the business’s operation.
